International career takes off

Bert Williams received this wonderful illuminated certificate from the Football Association, signed by Sir Stanley Rous, to record the four War-time International matches he played for England meaning his total number of England appearances would eventually be 28.

On May 26th 1945 Bert played against France in the Victory International at Wembley that ended in a 2-2 draw.  His match ticket and signed programme from the game are wonderful mementos.
